Complete in Thee

This song has been on my mind today. I've been singing the chorus over and over again. The words are so powerful. May you read them and meditate on them today.

Complete in Thee! no work of mine
May take, dear Lord, the place of Thine;
Thy blood hath pardon bought for me,
And I am now complete in Thee.

Chorus:
Yea, justified! O blessed thought!
And sanctified! Salvation wrought!
Thy blood hath pardon bought for me,
And glorified, I too, shall be!

Complete in Thee! no more shall sin,
Thy grace hath conquered, reign within;
Thy voice shall bid the tempter flee,
And I shall stand complete in Thee.

Chorus

Complete in Thee— each want supplied,
And no good thing to me denied;
Since Thou my portion, Lord, wilt be,
I ask no more, complete in Thee.

Chorus

Dear Saviour! when before Thy bar
All tribes and tongues assembled are,
Among Thy chosen will I be,
At Thy right hand, complete in Thee.

Chorus

I love this song! Of course if we can ever sing it right in State Street that would be a blessing!! =) I love the words. If we don't have Christ we can't be complete. He's the only one who can make us complete.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song...we need to sing it at church more often...actually...I don't think we ever had.

Stop playing with your layout...it's confusing...wait...no it's not. Well, maybe just a little.

Or not.

Powerful words indeed! Based on a powerful Bible truth in Colossians 2:10. When we put our faith in Christ as Saviour, God views us as clothed in the righteousness of His dear Son. Even though we have a lot of maturing to do in daily experience, that is the basis for our legal standing before God. How wonderful!

Your blog caught my eye this morning because of the quotation of Aaron Wolfe's hymn. If you enjoy reading about our hymns and their authors, I invite you to check out my daily blog on the subject, Wordwise Hymns. God bless.
